Summer Photography Hunt

I have had my pics taken for a while, I have just been remiss in posting them.

#2 Footprint or pawprint

I found this one on the sidewalk near my home.

#4 Book or magazine read this year

Scrappy, of course!

#6 A camper

I found this on a dog walk.

#8 An art project
(tons to choose from)

I am quite fond of this one, perhaps because of the time I spent.

#11  Fresh Produce

This was in the middle of summer and lots of nice produce available.

#13 The moon

#15 Team logo
My son's favorite teams

#17 Twins
I thought this would be the hardest and I ended up with two sets!

#18 Supermarket cart full of groceries
This is a very light load for me but I finally remembered to snap the photo.

#19 A seasonal cocktail or beverage
frosty alcoholic beverages

Baseball and beer, how much more "summery" can you get?

#20 Someone laughing

My friends and I at a show

#21 photo of me with a calendar (from the beginning of the challenge back in June)

I am also including an alternate just because my baby is so cute!

Thank you so much for bearing with me and this last scavenger hunt post.  You can find the rest of my post here and here.

Grateful for You! Quick Quotes Fall Card

Good morning Quick Quotes readers, Alicia posting today with some fall inspiration. Quick Quotes papers are so beautiful and their Powderpuff Chalking inks are so versatile.  I wanted the leaves on my fall card to reflect the colors of the paper not an ink.  I decided to go with an emboss resist technique to highlight the beautiful fall colors of the papers.

Steps for emboss resist technique
  1. Stamp images with Versamark ink on Quick Quotes paper of your choice
  2. Apply clear embossing powder and heat set
  3. Die cut or fussy cut image
  4. Ink generously with Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink of your choice

Here are examples of before and after of inking with Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink.  You can see all the details of the stamped leaf image just pop after inking!

Here's a close up of my pile of leaves.  I just love how the emboss resist technique!  I layered on a thin layer of Urban Oasis 102 paper to bring in more color and added all the layers to a goldenrod card stock

I switched up the papers for this one.  Lots of doodling and I am using the crab punch again.  I have used this punch more than I thought I would.

C.A.S.E. a Card Blog Hop with Scraps by Gracie

Remember the old kids game, Telephone? You know the one where a secret is told to the first person in line and then they tell what they think they heard to the next person and they tell the next person and so on and so on.  At the end of the line, the person says what they heard and the first person tells what they originally said and laughter erupts because the two things are nothing alike.  Well today's hop plays that game, but with card making instead of secrets.

This hop is un-like any you've probably ever been too.

We took one card created by Alicia  and sent it to the next blogger who then C.A.S.E.d the card (copy and steal everything) and sent her card on to the next blogger who C.A.S.E.d it and sent her card to the next blogger.  You get the idea.

When you are done hopping you'll see how different or maybe how similar the last card is to the first.

Alicia's blog (that's me) is first in the lineup.  You can find the entire line up below.

We'd like to say a HUGE THANKS to our sponsor today.

Theresa is giving away a $20 Stampin' Up Gift Certificate to one lucky winner AND
take 10% off any order placed through her (not available on website) by September 30th.
Email her at scrapsbygracie AT gmail.com with your order.

All you have to do to win this fabulous prize is comment on each of the blogs.
That's it! It really is easy.
Of course, we would love it if you became a follower too.

Comment buttons can be found at the bottom of the post (on most of the blogs).
Now on with the hop!

I recently acquired this Spellbinders die and this was my first attempt at playing with it.  I wanted to give the crafters following me plenty of elements to go with on their cards.  I embossed the background and masked the middle of the background stamp to allow for my sentiment (also embossed).

I thought the sheen from the embossing along with the glitter paper and printed paper made for a unique card.  I hope you enjoy all the directions it goes.

Ingredients:
Spellbinders Wreath die
Glitter card stock
Basic Grey Sweet Threads
Inkadinkado Thoughts for the Day
Recollections Vintage Green ink
Versamark ink
Anna Griffin background stamp
Ranger Silver Pearl embossing powder
Wow clear detail embossing powder
card stock
Quick Quotes chalking ink Seafoam & Mahogany

Up next is Connie! Let's see what she did with this card!

Thanks so much for hopping with us! Here's the entire line up in case you get lost:
