Here I used the Kiwi Lane tiny brackets template and some American Craft sheer ribbon.  Sentiment is from Stampin Up Sassy Salutations.

The Paper Loft Gear Head Layout

Today, I have another layout using a new Paper Loft collection:  Gear Head!  I have boys so I love all the great colors in the line for boys.  I used the Scrapbook.com NSD Sketch on Saturday to create this layout.  I also used Tim Holtz gears diecuts (movers and shapers and regualar~so I have 4 sizes) and I also have a gear punch.  I used a variety of brads to hold some of the gears onto the page.  I used the Creative Memories CCS to cut the circles.  All papers are TPL and the orange stripes are some old CM stickers.  Here's a closer look:

Here's the original sketch:

Switching gears for hearts was just natural for me...

The Paper Loft Great Outdoors layout

I did this layout over the weekend as part of the Scrapbook.com NSD online crop.  The challenge here was to use more than 10 die cuts.  I fussy cut these from The Paper Loft Great Outdoors collection.  I used my favorite burlap ribbon that I chased down at Hobby Lobby.  I used the Creative Memories CCS to cut the shapes.

I even snuck in using my Kiwi Lane tiny bracket templates overlapping the picture.

Thanks for Owl you do! washi tape card

Late night of crafting, but I love this card!  I used some washi tape that I have been wanting to use for some time. I just love the owl washi tape although the picture is dark and hard to see all the cool owls.  I created this with the Queen & Co NSD challenge #3 in mind.  As I was checking out Playful Paper's blog, I found this awesome sketch!  Just perfect for washi.  First I embossed some barely not white cardstock with a Tim Holtz embossing folder and distressed.  I layered the cardstock on a brown plaid and used the same cardstock for the card.  I added the washi, brads, and the stamped sentiment.  I punched with a Stampin Up label punch.

Queen & Co NSD Sketch Challenge with The Paper Loft Great Outdoors

Today I have used the Queen & Co NSD sketch challenge with the brand NEW Paper Loft Great Outdoors collection.  I was so excited to get the new lines as part of their design team.  Also today, you will find me at their booth at the Great Lakes Mega Meet  in Novi, MI on Thursday, May 8.

I knew I would find a use for some feather trim I bought years ago on clearance!  I think it looks great layered behind the title.  I cut the title from the Creative Memories Cricut cart Traveler.  I used washi tape layered on TPL paper.  I cut the tree border with my Creative Memories border maker.  I have recently heard a rumor that Heritage Makers is going to produce a border maker that should fit the same carts!  I will be so excited to have new borders even though I have all 16 CM ones, this is the best border system I have used, so to have more will be a blessing.

I added a little bling and popped up some diecuts from TPL to finish it off.

Here is the Queen & Co sketch challenge  and here is the sketch which I turned on its side:

Thank you Followers and Blog Anniversary Giveaways!!

First of all I want to thank each and every reader and subscriber to my blog.  When I started my blog 2 years ago I never thought that it would grow into my primary crafting outlet.  I didn't do much the first year but then I started following other blogs and discovered challenge sites.  My readership is more than 10x what it was when I started and my followers just keep growing!  I have YOU to thank for subscribing and stopping by to see my latest creations!

I participated in a few National Scrapbooking Day challenges this past weekend.  Some of these challenges are still open until Saturday, May 10! Therefore, you are going to see some of the projects posted this week.  First off I have a Thank you card which is the final challenge at Hiding in my Craft Room's NSD challenges.  You can find it HERE.

I used Stampin Up Raspberry Ripple paper and ink.  I used the SU label punch and matching stamps.  The patterned paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle's Vintage Summer 6x6.  I have recently discovered the beauty of 6x6 for cards!  I love that the pattern is smaller to fit the scale of cards vs. scrapbooking.  Finally, I added some bling, a flower and tied a bow with American Crafts sheer ribbon.

Now for my giveaways!

This is a small collection of Recollections ribbon and bling in black, white and smoke because who could NOT use some basics!  Qualification for this prize is to just be a follower of my blog.  I prefer you follow with Blogger but I can find my bloglovin' followers pretty easy as well.  The hard one to find are those following by email.  So please follow by one of the first two options to ensure your qualification to win this prize.  I will randomly (random.org) choose one follower to win this BASICS prize after May 31.

Prize #2 is some Sew easy fancy floss in pretty pastels and some glitter brads from American Crafts also in pastels.  To win the PASTEL prize you must be a follower (per BASICS prize) and comment at least three times this month with one being on the giveaway PAGE!  For you blog hoppers, that shouldn't be too hard because I have three blog hops this month.  So every follower who has commented at least three times this month will be entered to win the PASTELS prize be sure one is on the giveaway page so I know you are interested in winning!

 The Grand Prize:

Finally, the grand prize is a collection of TIM HOLTZ product!  I have added to this package already!!  In addition to the pictured, I have added some red distress embossing powder and Peeled Paint distress stickles!  The paper pack is Seasonal kraft resist with matching seasonal ribbon.  The tinsel ribbon is gorgeous and a couple of great embossing folder!  To win the grand prize of TIM HOLTZ product, you must show me the most blog lovin'!!  You will of course need to be a follower via Blogger or Bloglovin'.  Second, the person who leaves the most comments on May blog post (multiple comments on same post do not count).  I know I enjoy the prizes that I have to work a little for, so your challenge is to comment on all my May blog post! Finally, there will be three questions to answer on random post this month.  If you are reading every post there should be no problem in answering the questions in the comment section.  In case of multiple subscribers achieving this feat, the winner will be chosen via random.org.  Whew!  I hope that is not too hard!

I will choose all winners after May 31 via random.org and post in the first week of June.  Good luck with all the giveaways!

I will also have a few bits of blog candy for at least one of my blog hops this month and depending on how Great Lakes Mega Meet goes next weekend, I may add some brand new blog candy from the convention!  I hope to post during my scrappy vaca~live from Novi, MI so stay tuned!

Kiwi Lane May Blog Hop

Today, I welcome you to the Kiwi Lane May Blog Hop!  You should have come from Christine's blog. If you didn't you can start at the beginning: Kiwi Lane's blog

For those of you not familiar with Kiwi Lane they are makers of these awesome Designer templates !  I was privileged enough to have received the Tiny Bracket Set to play with!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!  I can't get enough!

Here is my project for the hop:

I just love how the tiny templates create a great space for sentiments!  I have used The Paper Loft's Island Sun collection papers and an Inkadinkado clear hummingbird stamp with Colorbox metallic ink in silk green.  The sentiment is from The Stamp Doctor.  I tied the bow with my Craft Dee Bowz tool and ribbon from my stash.  I used a Sizzix die cut to cut the flower with some Recollections bling in the center.

I made a couple of cards, here is another on a blue card base:

Close up of the flower:

Here's another card with the same flower and layered pieces cut with tiny bracket set designer templates from Kiwi Lane:

I wasn't quite as happy with this one.  I will try it again with another layer of cuts.  I used a Sizzix mover and shaper card to create the card of white cardstock.
I used more Paper Loft paper cut with a Kiwi Lane template on the inside.
Stampin Up sentiment from Sassy Salutations and Mix'd Media Vintage ink embossed with Wow clear embossing powder.

Here's the Kiwi Lane tiny accessory set: tiny brackets that I have been using:

I have also already used these brackets in a few other projects, here are the previous posts:

As you can tell I really, really love these templates!  I plan on purchasing more at the Great Lakes Mega Meet next weekend!

One random winner will be chosen from the participating blogs (including the Kiwi Lane blog) and will be given a $25 gift certificate to the Kiwi Lane Shop! The winner will be announced May 8th. So be sure and hop to everyone!!

Next up is Suzanne's blog!

Green Man Cards for Beltane

Today is May Day, or what some Celtic calendars call 'Beltane.' Beltane is a lusty and lively day that is said to attract scores of the fairy folk. Therefore, in order to invite the blessings of the wee ones, it is often encouraged to leave a bit of food and drink somewhere outside or on a window ledge so they can partake and leave you some luck in return. It is also believed that they enjoy a nip or two now and then, so small sips of wine are also believed to garner the best of their blessings. You can save the rest for yourself. This day is getting better already.

I took the above explanation from a daily email I get.  I thought it was a sweet introduction to the holiday.  There is really much more to it including the beautiful May Pole tradition.  But here is my little acknowledgment of the holiday.

I have more center step fold cards for you today!

Ingredients:
WR Happy Camper Constellations & Sleeping bag
Amazing Arts clear stamps
Mix'd Media Mossy ink
Recollections Pesto Pearl embossing powder
burlap ribbon from Hobby Lobby
My Mind's Eye enamel dots
pop dots & ATG

Thanks for stopping by and I promise as soon as I get pictures I will be posting the blog candy that I have for my followers.  May is my blog anniversary month so I plan to have several giveaways this month!  Keep checking!
