Now unto my project... 

I have been trying to create a card with my mason jar die and matching embossing folder.  I borrowed this Stampin Up stamp set from Pam at Stamping Buddies, my LSS.  I ended up finding my own set on ebay for a reasonable price.  You can't see how really neat this card it.  I used a layer of acetate for my top level of the jar and a few of the gumdrops are on pop dots.  I made a mask from a mis stamp and used it to create the flat layering.  I embossed the gumdrops with an iridescent embossing powder resembling sugar.  I used DCWV metallic paper for the lid.  I tied the sentiment on with twine.  The base of the tag is sprayed with ink.

Quick Quotes July Club Q Military Baseball layout

Good morning Quick Quotes readers!  Alicia with you today with some Club Q inspiration.  The last time I played with Club Q I kept all the product in each package with the pieces for that project. This time for something different I opened up every piece and mixed them all up.   

I had been playing with some pictures of my grandfather and decided on these baseball photos.  You can't get more patriotic than Army baseball!  Unfortunately, my grandfather has passed and I really don't know much of his story.  He was career Army, enlisting in 1943 and as far as I can tell leaving in 1968.  His Army photographs cover a wide range of places and years.

Unstampabelles July Guest Designer! Grab a bunch of flowers and make a garden!!

I was the May winner at Unstampabelles Challenges and they asked me to be guest designer this month, too!  I was so excited as soon as I heard garden I knew I wanted to make a fairy garden.  I had been wanting to make one for a while.  

I used Spellbinders spiral blossoms 2, 3 and 4 with Quick Quotes and The Paper Loft double sided card stock to start the flowers.  I generously inked them with Quick Quotes chalking inks, rolled and glued them.  I adhered them to pipe cleaners for stems and cut leaves from Spellbinders dies as well.  I finished them off with Stickles in the center.

Most of the ingredients came from Tuesday Morning except for the plants.

How's this for fast scrapping?  This event was May 16, 2015!!!  I don't have a 2015 album going yet so I purchased a "holding" album yesterday until I get there.  My son will be so excited his most recent event is scrapped!  The next page will be a picture of my feet.  I was in a kayak chasing these boys down to get these pictures!

Sketch N Scrap Vintage Photo layout

Good morning!  Today is Sketch N Scrap's Twistback Thursday sketch.  The sketch is originally from October of 2013.  The twist this month is to use vintage/old photos and scrap your history.  I went way back and found some very old pictures.  I don't actually own the originals but I scanned them from a family member.  My mother has researched and built our family tree on Ancestry.com so we know who these relatives are and some of their story.  I am so grateful to know this history.

Quick Quotes Sunkissed beach layout with Catalina Island

Good morning!  Alicia here today with a beach layout using Quick Quotes Catalina Island collection:

This week we are focusing on summer projects at Quick Quotes and this was the last family vacation my family took and it happened to be with the ENTIRE family, cousins, sisters, dad and our boys too!  It was so much fun but you just can't do that kind of trip every summer.  We stayed at Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina.  It was a beautiful, nice family beach.  My sister is the professional photographer and she took some of these photos and I used HER camera to take some of them.  

Top Tip Tuesday tip: chalking all the edges even the ones on the tiny letters make a big difference in your final project.

I just love how the bright summer colors of the Catalina Island collection make the black and white photo pop!

My Craft Room and recent updates

Welcome to my craft room!  I have taken pictures around the entire room to give you a 360 degree tour.  I was inspired recently by a Facebook group I am in about organization to try some ideas out.  I also need(ed) to clean my room for an event I am having in July.  So Father's Day weekend I locked myself in and worked my butt off!  The momentum has continued.  But I had to get back to actual crafting for all my swap and DT commitments.  So after that was done I did one more night of tidying before taking pictures.  It is still a work in progress but presentable.  I wouldn't have taken pictures yet but Double click skittles' linky is for craft rooms this go round.  AND....I did invest many hours recently so I guess I can show it off a bit.

So much for the 360 tour.  Now I would like to show you some highlights.  Here is my new adored Cricut Explore.  I don't even know how to utilize everything yet but I am lovin it!  I once saw someone using the stand at a crop.  It came from Walmart in the kitchen organization section.  At the crop the lady was using it to keep embellies on and such.  It gives you another "layer" which is always useful!  My CTMH stamps are stored in old CM photo holders.

Close up of one of my ink pad holders I made of foam board.  There are several great tutorials on youtube.  I took elements from all of them.  It is still not perfect but works for me!

I also made an pen holder of foam board.  I glued them with hot glue and reinforced all of the outside with duct tape.

Just so you know this is not all nice and neat here is a pile I still have not done anything with since moving my room in March.  The two flat boxes are literally my bead desk top from the other room.  So much sorting to do!

Since I am no longer using the ink pad holder for ink pads, I put all my Quick Quotes inking chalks in it and since I am on their DT, I need easy access to all the colors quickly!

In the hall...this is my photo, memorabilia storage and completed card inventory with a layer of never used bags on top just for fun!!!

I have managed to stick up some artwork of my friends.  I used to be a professional crafter doing about 20-30 art and craft shows a year.  I have collected much art along the way!  The fairy is from a local friend Sarah with Moonforest Studios,

I do not remember this lady's name but fell in love with her "ugly" fairies.  I think I have about 5!!
