Merriest Wishes card set

I decided to sit down at my desk and create an easy batch of holiday cards.  I perused Pinterest Card Sketch board for some ideas.  I found some great sketches posted on Janice's blog, she has a post that includes all the Paper Player sketches in one place.  It was a great resource.  Of course, with such a quantity of cards, I was liberal with the interpretation. This first one is one that is a bit different.  I used some intricately cut glitter tape and layer some old stickers on paper circles.  Since I used patterned paper for the background, I stamped the sentiment on a piece of paper and used a decorative punch.

Here is the sketch I used for this batch.

For this card I used some small stickers on punched card stock.  They were so small I fit 5 instead of 3.  For the rest of the batch I used my MISTI to stamp the same sentiment over and over.  What a time savor for production.

Here I used only 3 stickers and another fancy punch. This was the fancy square punch from Creative Memories.

These stickers were square so I simply cut larger card stock squares to layer.  I switched up the color of the sentiment.

This one doesn't really follow the sketch but I used the MISTI and the same sentiment.  For all of these cards I used old Creative Memories stickers and paper.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories stickers and paper kits
Creative Memories and Stampin Up punches
Stampin Up sentiment from To You & Yours
misc sentiment stamp from my stash
Stampin Up Baroque Burgundy and Forest Foliage
Our Daily Bread Designs pierced circles

Pink & Gold Season's Greetings

Good morning, more holiday cards to show off.  I found this sketch and used some of the pink and gold Cricut images I had cut for the latest challenge-Pink & Gold Holiday Glam open until 12.22.19.  This simple sketch was perfect to highlight my cuts.

Here is the sketch from I used from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

I used Anna's Christmas Kitsch for this sled image.

This card uses Close to My Heart Artistry cartridge tree image.  Both cards were pretty simple and using my MISTI worked great for stamping the sentiment multiple times.

Ingredients:
Close to My Heart Artistry cartridge (tree)
Anna's Christmas Kitsch cartridge (sled)
Gold foil paper
Pink shimmer paper
Gold vellum
Gold sparkle washi tape
Fiskars Seasons Greetings sentiment stamp
Brilliance Galaxy Gold pigment ink

Snow is Glistening... and CAS(E) this sketch!

I spent the weekend making a bunch of Holiday cards.  Besides a significant number, I was also attempting to keep my cards flat as to require a regular first class stamp.  I tend to make bling~y and bulky cards which require extra non-machinable postage.  So the CAS(E) this sketch was a great inspiration to begin my day of card making.  I was also dreaming of an all white card...as you can see it is just so hard for me to do that but I came pretty close!

Here's the sketch:

To create this card I used the following steps:
  • Stamp and emboss image on white card stock and sentiment on paper
  • Color image
  • Die cut white card stock
  • Spray with glimmer mist
  • Round two corners of sentiment strip
  • Adhere to card base

The angle of this photo shows the glimmer mist which fits perfectly with the sentiment.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up The Portfolio Collection and To You & Yours
Markers:  Copic B00 & BV25 and Mocha from another brand
Frantic Stamper Rounded Corner Stitched Rectangle die
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist-Glacier
Colorbox Black pigment ink and Judikins Black Detail embossing powder
Creative Memories corner rounder
Bo Bunny 6x6 Christmas in the Village paper
misc card stock

Let it Snow! Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another week's inspiration for the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I was feeling some winter colors rather than traditional Xmas when I created this card.  I found an old collection of coordinating papers that made a beautiful winter card.

Here is this week's sketch:

I looked through my stash of border punches for a scallop edge but then I thought why not I die?  I perused that stash.  I have so much product.  I keep my "inventory" in Evernote, a cloud based note app.  I can search any one of my notebooks or all of them by keywords.  I often consult it while shopping as to not buy duplicates.  I ended up using the Creative Memories border punch with a Marvy cartridge which wasn't scalloped like the sketch but fit very well with the winter blues and purple papers.  The snowflakes showing through are the white base of the card.  I used a die cut sentiment with more coordinating paper and an acetate embellishment to finish off the card.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories papers
Marvy bling bling border maker cartridge
Stamplorations Let it Snow die
snowflake acetate stickers
gems

Cricut Merry & Bright-Pink & Gold challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2

Good morning and welcome to my inspiration for the latest Bitten By the Bug 2's Pink & Gold Glam Challenge! What a great out color combo, it was such fun working with it.  I created several cards but the project I chose to showcase is the great little box from Merry & Bright.  Of course I had to glam it up a bit!

I cut the box as large as I could while still using a 12x12 mat.  I used a manual die to cut some of the foil paper and glued it on all four sides of the lid.  There were several tiny pieces to the cut that I chose not to add, I liked the simplicity of the two long cuts.

I also cut four different color light bulbs from 'Tis the Season for each of the sides of the box.

The bulbs were super easy at the 2x3"ish size I used.

The completed box measures approximately 4x4x4 with the lid being slightly larger.

Ingredients:
Cricut carts:  Merry & Bright and 'Tis the Season
Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits Holiday Knit dies
The Paper Company Bright Pink Shimmer card stock
Momento gold embossed foil paper
misc card stock

Cookie Monster Card for Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge Guest Designer

Hello Winter!  Well winter is technically not for a week or so, however, that is the challenge this time around at Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge where I am currently guest designer.  I love using my Sesame Street Cricut cartridge to make kid friendly cards.  The cuts are fairly intricate but are so spot on.  This may be the first time I have created a Cookie.

When I was a child my first alarm clock was a Cookie Monster clock with an oven and cookies. I loved to wake up!  For the background I used some very old Creative Memories printed paper.  I thought the colors were very winter~y.  I used a manual die cut circle to back the Cricut cut.  I love my Cricut but I will never stop using my manual die cuts.  I love the texture you can achieve with the manual process.  I always emboss after cutting if that is an option with the die.  I will then ink the edges to highlight the dimension.

Ingredients:
Cricut Sesame Street Celebration cartridge
Tutti Scalloped Stitched Nesting Circles
Karen Burniston Word Set 1 & 3
Creative Memories patterned paper
misc card stock
Recollections pre scored card base
Quick Quotes Powderpuff chalking ink
