Get Well Soon: Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Good morning, I have been scrapping a lot lately but it is once again time for an Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and a new card.  I recently sent out a get well card and noticed my stash was very low.  I decided it was a theme of which I need more.  On top of that, I recently purchased some used craft goodies from the Nextdoor ap.  I scored this swiss dot embossing folder and the Spellbinders Label Three dies!  I literally grabbed scraps out of a nearby bin and whipped up this card.

Here is the sketch:

The sunflowers are leftover scraps from a photo I took.  I used some brown scraps to layer the photo die cut and strip. The lighter tan paper is actually an old Creative Memories 8x8 printed scraps.  I stamped and embossed my sentiment and punched it out.

Here are both cards together.  I really like to distress edges and well I like making that embossing pop!

Ingredients:

Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder
Happy Little Stampers Rainy Days sentiment
Stampin Up Modern Label punch
Spellbinders labels three
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink Mocha Moma
Distress ink Antique Linen
Stampin Up Crushed Curry embossing powder
photo scraps
scrap papers

Lukas Nelson DCWV Glam Rock layout with Cricut cuts

Good morning and welcome to the Bitten By the Bug 2 Music challenge.  You can link up any project following the theme of music and using a Cricut machine for the next two weeks.  I have created a layout for your inspiration for this challenge.  These photos are from my vacation this past January.

The Hannah Montana Rock Star font had an optional second layer which I used to fill the stars in with a white glitter paper, a great match to the glitter stars in the paper print.

Here is a close up of the guitar from 3 Birds:  Life's a Party and the black shimmer music note from Hannah Montana.

Ingredients:
Cricut cartridge:  Disney:  Hannah Montana (music notes and Rock Star font)
and 3 Birds:  Life's a Party
DCWV Glam Rock stack
Quick Quotes Powderpuff chalking ink
misc card stock including black shimmer paper

I decided to play with my HSN Crafter's Companion purchase.  I got suckered into a CC's set last year and of course, I had to get all the subscription sets.  This Tea Party Create-a-card was one of those shipments.  There products are great but I found absolutely no instructions on this particular set, so I was really winging it considering this was the first card I produced with ANY of the Create-a-card sets.  I did make mistakes but we all know how easy it is to cover those up, I hope you can't figure out my mistakes and this card looks perfect now!

The inside of the card, great pop up but NO instructions...I have created several Karen Burniston Pop-up cards so I used that knowledge to assist.

Ingredients:
Quick Quotes Windsong and Chiffon papers
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink
Crafters Companion Tea Cup Create-a-card Dies

DCWV Glam Rock Concert Buddies Layout with Sketch N Scrap sketch

Here's another layout using DCWV Glam Rock stack.  The photos are not as recent as I have been scrapping lately.  These are from an outdoor festival a couple of years ago.  It was David Shaw's Big River Get Down in Hamilton, OH.  David Shaw is the lead singer in The Revivalist.  The band behind us is the Marcus King Band.

Here is the sketch I used from Sketch N Scrap:

Here's a close up.  The Jolee's Summer Concert pack was perfect for this layout!

It's hard to see but the sticer of the hands and flames were perfect for this photo.

Ingredients:
DCWV Glam Rock stack
Jolee's Summer Concert 3-D stickers
Creative Memories sticker letters
glitter stickers
shimmer paper

My Name is Mud: Bourbon and Beyond 2018

Perhaps I should have posted my Bourbon & Beyond layouts in a more chronological fashion.  This layout is of a photo taken Sunday morning at the festival site.  You can clearly see why the festival was cancelled for the day.  The prior day we endured hours of steady rain to see the music.  Not too shabby for old folks.

This layout was inspired by the White with 1 challenge this month - the one being chocolate/brown.  I have used a song title here, if you don't know the reference, here is the Official Video for the song by Primus.

I used white card stock splattered with Tattered Angels Tattered Leather glimmer mist.  I also sprinkled some brown enamel dots around the page.

Ingredients:
white and brown card stock
We R Storytime paper
Tattered Angels Tattered Leather glimmer mist
Creative Memories sticker letters
metal rimmed tag, stickers and fiber
Quick Quotes Mocha Moma Powderpuff chalking ink

DCWV Glamrock stack with The ScrapRoom sketch

This layout is another group selfie from the same weekend as the layout from yesterday...only in these photos it's Sunday night and we are back in Cincinnati.  The festival we were attending was rained out, so we packed up and came back home in time to catch another great show.  Here we are at Bogart's seeing the Marcus King Band.

Here's the iNSD sketch I used from The ScrapRoom Group's Facebook challenge.  I substituted the Spellbinders label die cuts for the circles. I used the Creative Memories Bordermaker system for the edging.

Here is a close up of the chipboard embellishment.  I tied some silver ric rac in the holes.  I sprinkled some silver star sequins

Ingredients:
DCWV Glamrock stack and Rockstar embellishments
Spellbinders dies
Creative Memories Bordermaker Notebook cartridge
Creative Memories Sticker letters
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink Midnight Confessions
ric rac and star sequins

Thanks for reading this far!

Freaky Fast Formula for iNSD with The ScrapRoom

Good morning!  It may appear I haven't been very busy with crafting from my lack of post but the opposite is true.  I have been crafting like mad and just got backed up on blogging my projects.  I spent the majority of International National Scrapbooking Day scrapbooking.  I played along with lots of challenges on Facebook.  Here is one I created with photos from a trip to Louisville last year.  This was a group selfie in a bar the night before a festival.  Here we met friends from New York.

My inspiration was the iNSD Freaky Fast Formula from The ScrapRoom. I must say using double printed paper from a kit works so well with these FFF.  One has so many choices using that tip.

I used some Tim Holtz letters for the title.

I used Quick Quotes chalking inks to color the wood veneer and then edged with black as I did all the pieces of the layout.

Ingredients:
The ScrapRoom 2017 Doubleshot kit:  KaiserCraft Daydreamer papers, ephemera, wood veneers
Tim Holtz letters
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks

Thank you for stopping by today, have a great one!

You Light Up My Life: Stampin Up, Karen Burniston and Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Welcome to this week's inspiration for the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I used a galaxy background to begin my illuminating card.  I topped it off with a embossed sentiment, a detailed die cut and glitter washi tape.

I created the background from scratch starting with specially coated paper for using with heavy inks.  The product I used was Judikins Matte Kote paper, however, it is almost identical to Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Specialty paper.  I did a comparison one day and while the Distress paper worked a tad better with Distress inks, the difference was barely negligible.  The process takes many layers of ink, I usually create several at a time and save some for a later project.

Here is this week's sketch:

Here are the steps in creating a galaxy background, I used Distress Oxides but regular Distress inks or any similar inks would work, but I am sure you know Distress was made for blending!
  1. Cover your card base with your "spacey" colors.  I choose Broken China and Squeezed Lemonade for this one, bright pinks and purples work great as well as greens.
  2. Layer Black Soot, Hickory Smoke or both with a blending brush or your applicator of choice
  3. Introduce water if you want to active the oxide properties at any point in on any layer
  4. Layer and spritz while leaving some of the "spacey" colors exposed
  5. After hours of layers, spritzing and drying which can be urged along with a heat gun...finally splatter shimmer ink

Ingredients:
Karen Burniston Camping Charms
Stampin Up Pun Intended sentiment and punch circa 2017
Versamark ink
Judikins Lemon Twinkle embossing powder and Matte Kote paper
Tutti Stitched Nesting Ovals
Distress Oxide inks:  Black Soot, Squeezed Lemonade, Broken China, Hickory Smoke
white shimmer spray ink
 glitter washi tape
misc card stock

DCWV Rockstar with Sketches in Thyme

Another Nashville layout using DCWV Rockstar collection.  I used black card stock to balance all the foil details in the DCWV paper.  But then I really pulled the gold back in with the embossed gold foil paper as a banner across the front.  I used a really fantastic sketch but it helps when you use a matching stack of papers like DCWV.

Here is the sketch I used from Sketch in Thyme.

I tied some gold fiber in the hole of the super cool foil skull and cross bones tag.  The perfect embellishment for his layout.

I had the scallops, they were yummy!  I would say some of the best I have ever had.

Ingredients:
DCWV Rockstar collection:  papers and chipboard embellishments
metallic gold embossed paper
Heidi Swapp chipboard stars
Creative Memories sticker letters
black card stock
fiber
