Harvesting Memories Blog Hop~Sunburst Card using The Paper Loft papers

Welcome to the Harvesting Memories Blog Hop!  I hope you are enjoying our hop and you should have come here from Christine's blog ~ http://hotberrydesigns.blogspot.com/.

Today, I have made for you a sunburst card.  I am participating in a card swap this month using this technique.  These are not, however, my cards for the swap which will be revealed next week during the 12 days of Christmas blog hop.

I used this tutorial to create my sunburst cards:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qU9b2aIy2-M

A couple of things I did differently...first I did trim my sunburst panel with a trimmer instead of fussy cut.  My regular trimmer didn't work well for this task, I used my Creative Memories rotary trimmer and it trimmed the excess off in a breeze without tearing the paper.  Secondly, I used my new ATG tape gun to adhere the triangle pieces to the base instead of glue.  I must admit I used glue at first but it warped the paper as it dried and I didn't like that effect.

I have used The Paper Loft's Easy Breezy Collection for the triangles and the rust colored paper is I believe in miracles from the Everyday Life collection.  After assembling my panels together, I ran it through the Sizzix using a Darice embossing folder.  I chalked it heavily with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Mocha Moma.  I stamped the word Fall with the Close to My Heart alpha set D1418.  Sorry, I don't remember the name and it is not labeled.  I used my index of stamps catalog I created using Tiffany Spalding's Get Organized Challenge to find the appropriate alpha.  I have a sheet marked "Alpha's" and with a quick glance I could see the size and attitude of this alpha worked with the card.  I embossed it with Judikin's Chocolate Twinkle embossing powder.  You can't see the twinkle too well in the photo.  I finalized the card with a ribbon and Recollections leaves I purchased at Michael's.
