Scrapbookers Painted Page and Sketches in Thyme

Hello and welcome to my latest layout for Sketches in Thyme (now excusively on Facebook). I thought this week's sketch lended itself to the variety of random pics I have from vacation.  There's sand sculptures, tropical flowers and that famous Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.

All these photos were snapped along Seven Mile Beach in Negril.  We stayed there for a few days back in January.

Cricut Crow with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog today.  I have my take on the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I wanted to make my first Halloween card of the season with a bit of a non traditional color.  I threw in some pink! It began with the cheek of the crow which I carried over to the collar and banner.  I found some perfect purple, orange and pink dotted paper.

I cut my crow with my Cricut.  I stamped the sentiment.

Stampin Up Grateful Bunch with Melody Ross Homespun collection

Hello today and welcome to my blog.  Anyday is a good day to tell someone they are awesome!  I pulled this awesome little card together from scraps out of my stash and a versatile stamp set.

Here's the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

I found the background die cuts in my stash of unused cuts.  So that's where I began.  I then searched my stash for something that complimented the pink and silver.  That's when I ran across some scraps of Melody Ross Homespun collection. I used pieces of paper, packaging and chipboard embellishments.

To finish up the card, I stamped and punched some flowers from Stampin Up Grateful Bunch.  Finally, I added sequins and twine to the tag.

Negril Beach layout for Sketches in Thyme

While I have tons of old photos to scrap, I decided to continue with the current year photos.  These are from our January trip to Jamaica.  This was our first trip to Negril.  We spent a lot of time chilling on the beach. 

Here is the sketch for this week.  You can now find our challenge on Facebook.

Here's a close up of the cool photos and title.  I haven't used my Cricut in months but I turned it on to cut the circle loop.  It is actually not a perfect circle.  I tucked the wonky edge under the cluster so it's hard to see.

A close up of the transparent cluster.  I really like the feeling I get when I use up old product.  I have had these transparent embellishments for many years. Finally the perfect layout for some of them, I still have many more images.

Stampin Up Sweet as a Peach with Quick Quotes Farmhouse papers

Hello and welcome to my blog today. I have my latest inspiration for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I recently aquired this Stampin Up Sweet as a Peach stamp and die set.  I had worked with it at a Stamp a Stack event and fell in love.  My love for peaches is two fold.  I am a Georgia native and a big Allman Brothers Band fan.

Here's the sketch, it was so versatile, I created a stack of cards.

Personally, I can't stand the texture of peaches, I know, I know...while I can enjoy a nectarine.  I am crazy. But I know my fellow crazy ABB friends will enjoy these cards.

I really thought these Quick Quotes papers paired well with the them and colors of the peaches.  It is called Farmhouse.  I don't think it is available any longer.

Both these sentiments are from the stamp set and just perfect!

Ink Road Stamps Women Belong in All Places for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hi and welcome today.  I am using my Ink Road Stamps RBG set for the first time!  I wanted this set so bad and never got around to using it until now. I found the perfect lacey stickers to accent the RBG image. 

Here's the sketch.  It is so versatile.  

Here is a close up of my coloring on Ruth. I added liquid pearls on the earrings and diamond glaze on the glasses.

I had so much fun with this image and sketch that I created several versions.  I experimented with different lace stickers, die cuts, sentiments and alcohol markers.

Another close up of coloring.  This one seems to have more warmth.

Creative Memories Fabulous Power Palette with Sketches in Thyme

Today's layout for Sketches in Thyme  is from my last day at Island Exodus in Jamaica.  I took lots of photos with some of my favorite women.  I used some old Creative Memories papers and pieces from the Fabulous power palette.  I am getting really close to using up this collection, that makes me happy.

Here's the sketch:

The sentiment is a transparent sticker.  I used paper flowers and paper ribbon from the collection as well.

I free handed the edging and used scraps for the journal strips.

Stampin Up 3 Cheers for you! for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Welcome to my blog today and my lastest design team project for Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge.  I have a card where I upcycle several elements.  Besides upcycling, I already had the Cricut cut in my stash.  And, I found this great tag in my tag stash. I think it really works.

Here is the sketch:

I tag was hard plastic. I also had the negative die cut I used for the frame. I used two beverage themed Stampin Up stamp sets.

The bling is also reused vintage sequin/beads from a creative reuse store.

Ink Road Stamps Don't Poke the Dragon with Distress inks for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Today's card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge was super fun to make.  I really wanted to use my some of my latest stamps.  I used two different dragon sets.  I loved the dragon's eye from one set with the sentiment from another.

Here's the sketch from Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge.  I reversed the sentiment and image because of the direction the dragon's eye faced.

I began this project by stamping and embossing the sentiment and image.  I then used various Distress inks to create a mixed green background.  I added strips of gorgeous foil papers to the edges. The final touch was a black lace ribbon.
