Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge with Washi tape

When I first saw this sketch I just knew I was going to use up some of my washi stash.  All of these came in a tube from Michael's, so they go together perfectly.  I found some scraps of We R Storybook papers that looked great.  I tried to keep it someone what gender neutral despite the flowers, I think I could send this to anyone.

Here's the sketch:

Quick Quotes May Club Q layouts

Good morning Quick Quotes readers,  Alicia here with this month's Ultimate Combo Club Q.  I absolutely loved every single item in my kit even though I am just showing off the layouts today.  I am so enamored with the ferns.  They are simply gorgeous! I love the twine included to create the stem and after chalking the edges they are so lifelike!

First I created a couple of feminine layouts.  The photos are of my niece on prom day which I printed on my new Canon PIXMA iP8720 13x19 Wireless Printer.  Didn't they turn out lovely? My sister is a great photographer and the printer is awesome.

There are plenty of die cut flowers in the kit to go with exquisite ferns.   I inked all the edges on both of these layouts with Warm Gray PowderPuff Chalking Ink to accent the b&w pics.

I used some of the cut paper from which to cut my title with my Cricut.  I accented with plenty of pearls and did not even use all that were included with the May's kit.  Pearls are especially appropriate for my niece who always has on a strand.

My next two layouts are also very recent photos I took just this month of my son's first race. As soon as I saw the ferns it reminded me of the crowns that are given to race winners. These layouts have a completely different feel despite using the same papers and elements. Quick Quotes papers and embellishments are so versatile.

I chalked the chipboard title with Navy PowderPuff Chalking Ink and edged it with Clay PowderPuff Chalking Ink as are all the papers and die cuts.  By chalking these layouts with a different color and changing up just a couple of extras, the same papers take on a more masculine feel.

Freaky Fast Formula!

CLICK HERE FOR THE HOME GROWN BLOG HOP

This was fun!  I have never tried this type of challenge before.  I didn't look at any of the posted inspiration, I just cut the pieces in the appropriate sizes and played around.  I am pleased, well once I went back and fancied up my fabric dots.

Here's the Freaky Fast Formula I used from the Scraproom.

I cut all the pieces from double sided Quick Quotes papers mostly from the Honeycomb collection.  I inked all the edges Warm Gray.

I created some of my own embellishments again.  I found these "dots" at Tuesday Morning.  Apparently they are for fabric crafts/clothing but I thought they were the perfect size for flowers on cards or pages.  I added various orange embellishments for the flower centers out of my orange embellishment stash.

I used Cheery Lynn dies to cut the leaves and vines.

Ingredients:
Quick Quotes Honeycomb papers
Quick Quotes Powderpuff chalking ink Warm Gray
fabric dots
various embellishments
Cheery Lynn dies

Thanks so much for bearing with so many scrapbook pages of my honeymoon.  I promise it is almost over!  I only have to scrap five more pages but will be posting my pages sporadically throughout the month.

Super Funky Scrapbook Page

I am cranking them out!  I managed a couple of hours of scrapping before a very far away soccer match early afternoon.  After that and walking the dogs I had time to edit and write my post.  I do love how funky this flower page turned out.

Here's the sketch:

Some details:

When I want things a certain way I will try my hardest to achieve the effect for which I am looking.  For instance, the above embellishment started with a Pebbles birthday embelli.  I ripped off the birthday paper and button.  I replaced it with a piece of punched glitter paper and a very tropical looking button laced with black floss.  You can also see the flair required for the Scrap Our Stash NSD twist in this pic.

A second cluster I created with a sun punch, Cheery Lynn dies and a vintage button.

Ingredients:
Prismatic paper
Quick Quotes inks:  Green with Envy and Fuchsia
Sticko Stickers
Basic Grey flair
Creative Memories Circle cutter
sun punch
Stampin Up scalloped circle punch
various scrap papers including Creative Memories
Recollections enamel black dots
Pebbles topper altered
floss
